Mummy to Matilda (who certainly lives up to her namesake), wife to Glen and a hectic virtual assistant with her own business. Fatima’s little blog space is where she gets to be creative, talk about family adventures, as well as all the lovely things that keep her inspired. After many years spent as a Theatrical Agent tending to actor’s every whim, Fatima loves having the time to explore her own creativity including a new found passion for Photography. Born and bred in Fulham where she still lives today, Fatima loves London but whiles away many an hour daydreaming about an escape to the country (watch this space!).
A few questions about nice things...
Who do you most admire?
Creative, determined women; Marlene Dietrich, Frida Kahlo, Judi Dench and Bette Davis are my heroines. However, the person I most admire is my Mother, despitethe struggles through out her lifetime, she always comes out fighting. At 86 years old she is full of wisdom, kindness and love. If I can be half the woman she is I’ll be happy.
What are your favourite possessions?
My piano that I haven’t played for 20 years but I secretly hope one day I’ll conquer my fear, and play once again. My books, my wedding ring, my daughter’s memory box and ancient family photographs I found in my Grandmother’s dresser that now take pride of place on my Photograph wall.
Tell us about your perfect day or weekend...
A lazy breakfast with my husband and daughter, a picnic in the sun, an ice cream on the beach or cake in a pretty tea shop. Rummaging through a secondhand bookshop, a car boot sale or vintage fair then a wander through a National Trust property (yes we’re now the proud owners of a membership card).
What makes you happiest?
Spending precious time giggling and having fun with my little family in the outdoors. Sitting in a worn, musty red velvet seat waiting patiently for a play to begin. Finding a warm log fire in a pub after a windswept walk along a British beach. Travelling to distant far off lands to explore new cultures. My husband walking through the door each evening.
What would you like to do in the future?
I love my life and the choices I have made in recent years, though I would love to develop my blog and expand the business. I also dream of opening a small tea garden selling delicious cakes and cream teas to passersby. Perhaps when we finally find our perfect cottage garden!
